Yana Shenker, LCSW

Yana Shenker received her Masters degree in Social Work from Fordham University in 2012. Since then, she has worked with adults, adolescents, and children, specializing in depression, anxiety disorders, and life coaching.

Dealing with Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD) from an early age, Yana became obsessed with spreading awareness & educating about the hardships of living with a mental health issue.

She began the Facebook group GroupTherapy BY yana as a social movement to provide women with a positive outlet to anonymously ask questions, with a vision of creating a virtual support system and reducing the stigma of mental health issues.

Today, Group Therapy BY yana has grown to 12,000 female members with over 2,000 anonymous concerns.

In 2017, Yana’s personal blogs titled “11 Simple Strategies I Use to Help Ease My Anxiety” and “Some Do’s and Don’ts for Living With Anxiety” were published on “The Mighty” and “Thought Catalog” popular mental health blog sites.

Through her private practice “Byyana Psychotherapy”, Yana offers intimate services for women and children, focusing on depression, anxiety disorders and helping women move forward by setting personal and professional goals that will lead to the life they desire.

Yana lives with her husband in Brooklyn, NY. She enjoys exploring the city while developing new ideas in cute coffee shops!

Yana’s definition of happiness is staying in the moment and contributing to the world.

Yana is constantly working on her professional development through continuing her education.
